BEAR VALLEY RESIDENTS, INCORPORATED
Minutes of the February 13, 1999 General Meeting

Call to Order- The meeting was called to order by President Marilyn Ruch at 4:10pm at the Perry Walther Bldg., Bear Valley, CA.

General Meetings- President Ruch announced that the Board is seriously considering having only one general meeting per year and shifting it to the summer.

Tennis- Presdient Ruch and Director Littlejohn discussed the minimal use and high cost of maintenance of the tennis courts.

Picnic- President Ruch discussed last year's picnic and announced that the 1999 picnic would be during the July 4th weekend.

Board of Directors' Election- President Ruch announced the results of the election; Eric Jung, John Korn, Astrid Littlejohn, Kendra McCoy, Robert Schulz and Jeff Sibley. McCoy was elected to fill out a one year term and all others are elected for three years.

BVRI Board Meetings- President Ruch announced that that board meetings will be held quarterly. April 10, July 17, and October 17, 1999 and January 2000 (day to be set).

Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation- Director Shuck announced the results of the recent election regarding revision of the Bylaws and the Articles (See attached Amendments).

Architectural Review Committee- Ron Murphy, Chair of the ARC, announced the members of the ARC: Robin LaRoy, Ron Murphy, Clement Soga and Terry Woodrow. Murphy gave a summary of recent activities of the ARC.

Corporation Yard- Leonard Turnbeaugh, Director of Public Works, Alpine Co., discussed the planned corporation yard and facility for storing boats, trailers, and RV's.

U.S. Forest Service Winter Recreation Plan- Patty Cleary of the USFS discussed the land reallocation plan to afford the best recreational uses of USFS lands during the winter.

Supervisor Tom Ward- Supervisor Ward discussed the plan for the transportation lift and enforcement of the snowmobile speed limit in the village.

 

BVRI Bylaws - Amendments approved by the BVRI General Membership 12/98

Amendment #1:

(a) add as voting members of BVRI any person who owns, or leases for a period of one year or longer, any residential property in the old Bear Valley subdivision or the condominiums outisde of the Bear Valley Tract Subdivision ("Bear Valley Area");

(b) add as non-voting members of BVRI any person who leases any residential property in the Bear Valley Area for a term less than one year;

(c) provide that no less than eleven members of the BVRI Board of Directors shall be owners (or lessees) of lots or owners of condominiums within the Bear Valley Tract Subdivision, Tracts 1-7 plus any future annexations ("Subdivision Property Owners");

(d) provide that only those members of the Board of Directors of BVRI who are Subdivision Property Owners may vote on any matter related to the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions applicable to the Bear Valley Tract Subdivision; and

(e) provide that only those voting members of BVRI who are Subdivision Property Owners may vote for candidates for the BVRI Board of Directors' positions to be held by Subdivision Property Owners.

Amendment #2:

Amend the BVRI Articles of Incorporation to provide that the purpose for which the corporation is formed is any lawful purpose.
