CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Board President Dave Morley at 4:03 pm in
the County Services Building in Bear Valley, California and via telephone
conference bridge for those members unable to attend in person.
* Minutes of 4/24/10 Board Meeting
Minutes from the 4/24/10 Board Meeting were distributed via email for final
review.
MOTION: Randy Mancini moved to accept the minutes of the April 24 meeting as
distributed via Email.
All members in favor.
None opposed.
* Minutes of 5/24/10 Board Meeting
Required attending board members need to approve via email.
* Treasurer's Report: Jack Wedgwood
Jack Wedgwood reviewed the financial reports as distributed to the board in
email.
We have now slightly surpassed last year's memberships.
Balance sheet looks very good because we haven't spent any significant money
yet this year.
MOTION: Barbara Goodrich moved to accept the treasurer's report
All members in favor.

* President's Report: Dave Morley
Congratulations to Barbara Goodrich who is now on the BVWD Board of Directors.
* BV Water District Report
Bylaw change is in process--most important change is change to election
process to have one rate payer, one vote based on acreage.
Working on policy for when to start billing for condos which are finished but
not sold, budget for fiscal year beginning July 1, and rate review.
* Lake Alpine Water District Report
CPUC rejected the LAWD proposal so they aren't going to consider it anyway.
Kimi providing regular updates on status.
* Development Update
Available hookups went from 27 - 40. This
additional capacity is not helpful to the proposed development, but there
should be sufficient capacity for individual lot owners who want to build for
the next several years.
* Large Home Size
Discussion of the main issue on home size to determine what a proposed change
to design standards or CC&Rs might cover (overall proportion relative to other
homes in the community, size of home footprint, number of kitchens, number of
potential occupants, number of trees removed in order to build, ability to
mitigate the perception of "massiveness" through re-vegetation with trees and
other vegetation).
BVRI home size committee will look at the Design Standards and CC&Rs to
consider how we could change them to limit the perceived massiveness of a new
home. Consider a move away from a square footage restriction and towards an
aesthetic impact guideline. Committee will consider delivering a 3-dimensional
rendering of the proposed new home and also a requirement to submit a
landscape and re-vegetation plan that includes a plan for trees to be
planted to replace trees that are cut with a proposed home design. BVRI could
provide some guidelines.
* ARC Report
New house in review now (proposed @ 1800 square feet).
* Snowmobiles and or OHV Action Plan
No report at this time
* Beach Operations Report
Beach attendant position is not filled for the coming summer. Beach clean up
planned for June 19, 20 and 21st. Wedding planned on the beach on June 26th.
* Picnic Report - Paul Petersen and Sue Garratt
Picnic Date: Sunday, July 4, 2010 Planning to have picnic at the beach
if the snow is melted enough or at the ballfield if too much snow. Sue and
Paul will make final decisions regarding picnic.
* Newsletter: Jeff
Barbara to revise the LAWD article. Eric and Ron to submit some additional
content to Jeff.
Eric to provide "article" on how to get a street number sign.
Include notice of general meeting Labor Day weekend.
* Bruce Orvis Day July 14
Event to honor Bruce Orvis will be held on July 14 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the
Warming Hut in the meadow.
MOTION: Eric Jung made a motion that BVRI allocate $500 to support this event.
All members in favor.
None opposed.
* Greg Peterson Memorial
Saturday, June 12, at noon at the Bear Valley Lodge.
* Forest Management
Lot inspections won't start until August to allow time for lot clean up after
snow melt.
Discussion: Letter to remind last year's violators that their lots need to be
cleaned up before August inspections.
* New Business
Forest Service is doing a thinning project and a lot of it involves the
property above the lake where the forest service property comes right down to
the road. They're asking for comments by June 21st. BVRI to send a letter to
the forest service that we enthusiastically support this project but we
encourage and expect then to use best practices regarding logging and erosion
in order to protect the lake.

Will be held labor day weekend on Sunday 9/5 at 4:00 pm
